Perfectly Painted Floral Inspiration

I’ve been noticing a lot of floral print on the fashion runways lately, and it’s made it’s way to the wedding runways too.  I’m sure you’ve seen the hand painted cakes that are all the rage right now.  Well I’ve got some other hand painted foral decor just for  you.  From a gorgeous vintage garden dress to a painted floral runner and to-go coffee cup favors, there are so many ways to incorporate florals into your wedding without looking dated.  Once you’ve finished drooling over this board, be sure to head over to Maggie Austin Cake for more genius wedding cake inspiration.

Tangerine + Pink + Red Inspiration

I’m often inspired by fabrics.  In fact, I pulled my own wedding colors from the fabric on a reupholstered dining chair.  Today’s source of inspiration is no different.  I came across this chair on Pinterest a couple weeks ago and immediately thought, “wedding colors!”  More serendipitously is that I recently read Pantone’s Spring 2012 color report that forecasts Tangerine Tango as the color of the Season.  So, why wait for Spring?  Now is as good a time as ever to inspire with bright hues of tangerine, pink and red.  Like the chair, I included whites and golds in the palette  to neutralize the brights and elevate the overall aesthetic.  I feel energized each time I just look at this board.  What about you?

Updated Website. Check out our Gallery!

Hi  Again!  I’m posting everyday this week to get acclimated to the whole blog world and to celebrate the new Allure website and blog.  Today, I want to share the Allure Wedding Gallery, with albums by photographers Nicole Goddard, Gene Higa and Ann Hamilton.  We have five of our favorite weddings from years past on the gallery wall, including our newest addition, Andrea and Sean.  I will be sharing more of Andrea and Sean’s stunning Carmel Valley wedding later this week.  Here’s a sneak peak for now:

Another favorite on the Gallery wall is Eileen and Chris.  Their Treasure Island wedding was modern and beautiful, filled with bright flowers.  I love the white aisle that Eileen walked down.  So classic.

There’s so much more to come, stick around!

Cheers!

An Allure Blog is Born!! Welcome, baby!

Christy Daly, CWC Certified Wedding Consultant, Allure Consulting

Hello World!  I am so happy to introduce myself via this very post.  Our first Allure Consulting Blog post!  My name is Christy Daly and I run the San Francisco Bay Area office of Allure and the Allure blog.  I will be posting here to keep you updated on what’s going on at Allure, where the wedding industry is and where it might be headed, and my opinions about it!  Check out our website for a full description of what Allure is all about and how we can help you plan your wedding.

Here’s a little about me:  I’m a Texas girl, but my heart belongs to San Francisco.  Within one mile of my flat in the city, is the place my husband and I shared our first kiss, the chapel we got married in, and the hospital my son was born in.  I can literally walk this personal history!  I’ve been in San Francisco since 2004 and really feel like I became the woman I am today here.  As I type this, I am sitting in a room with boxes…sadly, we are leaving my beloved city and heading to San Jose in just a few weeks.  I am sad, of course, but I will still be around SF!  I will be running Allure from my home office in our new place, near Campbell.  Lots of changes coming up…and the Allure changes are already very much underway!  Exciting stuff, my friends…!

Me, in a nutshell:

-Taurus/Aries cusp.  Not a huge astrology person, but I feel I lean more toward the Taurus side of the stars…

-Dirty Dancing is my favorite movie. Of. All. Time.

-I’m 5’10″ and I was 5’10″ in 7th grade.  Tough year.

-Wedding Planning is my career and passion.  I’m also passionate about acting and I perform in an improv and sketch comedy troupe in San Francisco, Crisis Hopkins.  I’m pretty funny.  Just ask me.

-My son, Joey, is 2 years old and the light of my life.  And the cheerio stuck to my bottom.

-I love food.  I can’t even think of a favorite meal or treat because I love almost everything.  Especially anything that includes cheese. And except olives.

So…let’s get started, shall we?  Check out the new Allure site (with two brand new interviews by Michelle Martinez and me here), and follow us on Twitter and Facebook if you please.  I’m so excited to be here in blog-land, I hope to see you soon and often!

Cheers!

Christy
